GET INVOLVED
The Hillsborough County Conservation District receives funding from the County to support one employee. The remainder of its operating budget is obtained through grants, fundraisers and donations. We welcome any support you would like to provide to us from a monetary donation to volunteering your time to help the District meet its mission and goals for its programs throughout the year. For more information, please contact the District office.
GLEANING
The Hillsborough County Conservation District has been the host organization for Hillsborough County Gleaners, a part of the statewide organization NH Gleans, since 2013. Hillsborough County Gleaners is working to increase the availability of fresh and local produce that is distributed to food pantries, soup kitchens, community resource centers, community suppers and schools. We have consistently ranked top in the state for the amount of food gleaned and redistributed to those in need. We ended 2023 gleaning 43,256 pounds of food! In order to be successful, we rely heavily on the support of volunteers. If you are interested in helping out during the 2024 season, please contact Gleaning Coordinators, Kathy Parker or Celeste Barr by calling (603)732-9194 or hillsboroughcountygleaners@gmail.com
We are also looking to add more farm participants to our program. Please contact us if you have crops to donate!
